This grand home, located in Weston's Windmill
Estates, has an open floor plan that lends itself to the much-desired continuous
flow from one room to another.
The client's dream was to have a home with an elegant flare without abandoning
a warm and inviting feel. With designer Sherri Goode's goal now set, the look
was achieved by using multiple textures and a monochromatic, earth-toned based
color scheme that her client favored.
The first phase began in the master bedroom suite (top left). Multiple shades
of similar hues set the backdrop for traditional furnishings. The walls were
painted
in a delicious mocha tone and finished with a faux suede technique. Applied
mouldings and a chair rail, gilded and antiqued, wrapped the walls and were
then inset with Venetian Plaster. To further enhance the beauty
of this room, the feeling of the outdoors was brought in by the beautiful Foliage.
The bedding, truly fit for a Queen, paid homage to who the client really is.
The rug, contemporary in nature and designed with 100% silk wool, complements
the original art over the headboard. The master bathroom (left) is a study in elegance expressed
in the monochromatic color guidelines requested. The over-sized chandelier
complete
with chocolate and amber-colored French cut pendalogues set the stage!
The window treatments over the Roman tub are motorized, to aid in the
ease of usability. On the walls, a special plaster technique was applied
with an antique finish, lending the room an old-world feel. The bath
fixtures were embellished with hand-cut Swarovski crystal made in Paris.
Custom framing was installed around the fixed mirrors, an elegant detail
that adds further dimension. As a finishing touch, the cabinet hardware
is highlighted by coordinating Swarovski crystals throughout. The formal living room's (2nd picture from top) beauty
evolved by combining the strong beauty of the outdoors as a backdrop
with the
original
artwork
over the
coral mantel and the mix of contemporary accessories with traditional
furnishings.
The soft, faux finish technique on the walls was contrasted with a darker faux
finish in the niches to enhance the detail. The decorative striped drapery coordinates
with the fabric on two Fatouille chairs, while the throw pillows tie it all together.
This room is a dream-come-true for Ms. Goode's client.. The warmth and comfort in the family room (upper left)
provided her client the perfect stage to entertain and relax at ease.
The sectional
was covered in a
chocolate-colored velvet, lending the furniture piece a rich feel. The
decorative drapery also coordinated with the fabric on the sofa's throw
pillows. Sherri Goode's clever combination of traditional furnishings
and contemporary art and accessories lend the room an eclectic and interesting
feel.
Extending to the breakfast nook (left) is the relaxed, down-to-earth
ambience highlighted by the beautiful outdoor backdrop. This area's drapery
is
also installed with
the motorized system for ease. A custom made cornice wraps the drapery as a header
to give contrast and further enhance detail. The chocolate-colored fabrics sewn
into the antique, ivory-colored furniture create the elegance that the client
was seeking.
The common themes used throughout the interior of monochromatic hues
and opulent details complement the home's elegant, open floor plan and
architecture. The
attention to detail yields a space that emits warmth and luxury, just as the
client requested. Now the client has a home that is a true expression
of her lifestyle: elegant, warm and unpretentious in nature. A true
class act! SOURCES:
